Session fees vary depending on the services you receive. The initial consultation fee will be discussed when making your first appointment.  If you have further questions, please contact Dr. Shapiro directly.

To ensure that you receive the highest quality of care and the strictest level of confidentiality, I accept fee for service private payment only.  This payment method assures that you will receive the customized care you require by relieving your treatment of the external constraints often created by insurance companies.  For example, after an initial assessment, we will work together to determine the optimal length and frequency of future treatment, without the limitations normally imposed by insurance companies.  As a result, I am able to more effectively offer high quality, comprehensive treatment.  In addition, this payment method safeguards the confidential nature of your treatment by keeping your treatment private as to third parties (unless you provide consent to release such information).
 
I accept payment in the form of cash, check or credit card.  Payment in full is expected at the end of each visit.

Dr. Shapiro is not on any HMO/Insurance panels.  However, this does not preclude you from submitting my bills to your insurance company.  If you are interested in utilizing your insurance, I recommend that you call your insurance company and ask how you can obtain reimbursement for my services.  Often, insurance will pay for some component(s) of psychiatric services on an “out of network” basis.  I am glad to provide you with invoices that you can submit to your insurance company.  However, you are responsible for all fees, and reimbursement, if any, shall be handled between you and your insurance company.

A good Faith Estimate will be provided to patients prior to their first visit and annually thereafter unless there are changes in fees.  Patients can request a good faith estimate estimate prior to any scheduled visit.
